Meghan

Meghan has been practicing Irish Dance since 2005 when a friend invited her to “just come and watch”! She is the only remaining dancer from the original group of 9 Advanced dancers when O’Shea Irish Dance was formed in 2006.

Her competitive dance career has taken her around the world where she has competed at the World Championships, the All-Scotlands and the Great Britain Championships. She has been to the North American Nationals and mid Mid-America Oireachtas. Her drive and competetive experience led to Meghan being featured in a documentary by Twin Cities Public Television.

Meghan has has performed in shows with The Chieftans and Katie McMahon, the Blaine High School Orchestra and with a National Touring production of The Magic Tree House.

Meg loves to share her passion with other dancers and exemplifies a work ethic that is admired by all. She credits Cormac with dramatically changing the trajectory of her success and she enthusiastically shares tips and feedback with other students.

Sophia

Sophia developed a passion for Irish dance when quite young. While her interest was great, so too were the obstacles. When she was 10 years old her mother made arrangements for her to take Irish dance lessons in St.Paul, some 185 miles from her home. The lessons became more frequent, and now Sophia lives full-time in the Twin Cities to pursue her love of Irish dance.

Sophia's early years of Irish dancing were focused on performing. More recently, she has begun to both perform and compete under Cormac's direction. She considers Cormac to be an amazing dance instructor, and his expertise and technical knowledge of dancing inspire her. Sophia also has a great interest in teaching. She appreciates the opportunity to share her passion for Irish dance with others and encourage them to be their best.

Evan

Evan is a competetive Irish dancer training under Cormac O’Sé at O’Shea Irish Dance. After winning 1st place in his age group at Chicago’s Mid American Regional Competition in 2010, he went on to place 24th at the World Irish Dance Competition in Dublin in April of 2011.  Most recently, he placed 5th at Nationals in Nashville, TN in July of 2011. While Evan loves the thrill of competition his love for dance is even stronger.

Evan has studied both Irish and Japanese dance, has done the Ring of Kerry at various venues with Cherish The Ladies, and has performed with the Duluth Symphony Orchestra at the Duluth Symphony Hall. His recent performance credits include the leading role of Padraic in the play "Get Up Your Irish" which debuted at Steppingstone Theatre March of 2011.

Evan is patient and caring with our young dancers modeling both discipline and heart.
